I spent my Sunday morning at the Mecca for phones, tablets, and all things in between, Greenhills Shopping Center, to help a friend canvass prices of the Apple iPhone 4S.
I didn’t see any 64GB models, but there are 32GB versions. The carrier-locked phones go for as low as P36,000, and the unlocked iPhone 4Ses cost between P38,000 and P39,000.
There’s really not much difference between Greenhills’ prices and Smart’s. If you must get a prepaid Apple iPhone 4S then, I suggest you buy one from the latter. With prices currently neck and neck, the main consideration should be that feeling of security you get from buying goods from authorized iPhone 4S resellers (that is, Smart and Globe). You can’t put an amount on that—especially when time comes that you need after-sales service.
P.S. I also asked around for microSIM cutters.
This one (looks like a stapler, yes?) sells for P500, but as an alternative, you can have your SIM cut for a fraction of the cost—or for free, if you buy an iPhone or iPad case.
