Itching to give the Google Nexus 7 a handful, huh? Completely understandable. We’re in the same boat as every Filipino tech nut out there. So after scouring online listings for appropriately priced finds (give or take a mark-up of a few thousand pesos to cover taxes and importation expenses), we ended up with a few ads at Sulit.com.ph.
The most within-our-means tag on the virtual shelf costs P12,500 for a brand-spanking-new device (see item here).
If the first Android Jelly Bean-certified tablet doesn’t ring a bell, here’s a recap of the Google Nexus 7 specs to get you giddy:
- Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset
- 1.2GHz quad-core CPU
- GeForce GPU
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB internal memory
- 7-inch LED-backlit IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass (800 x 1280 resolution)
- 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera
- 4,325mAh battery
- Android Jelly Bean OS (version 4.1)

The gambits? First, it’s difficult to trust strangers, so easy on making a deposit. Second, most of those listed here aren’t available yet. And third, because all currently peddled Nexus 7s in the market are/were not shipped by ASUS Philippines, the would-be distributor of Google’s newest prime-time product, good luck with local after-sales support.
But, hey, it’s either Sulit’s online offers or this.
