Update, 11 a.m., October 3: According to the distributor’s representative, here’s the pricing for NBA 2K13 in the Philippines:
- PlayStation 3 – P2,595
- Xbox 360 – P2,495
- PC – P1,995
- PSP System – P1,895
You know you’ve been waiting for a video game far too long when all you can muster for a reply is “Oh, my Goooooodddd! I’ll be there!” when the press invite lands in your inbox. Yes, ladies and gents, NBA 2K13 is indeed getting an official launch in the Philippines on October 5, three days after its release in the United States. This says a lot about how important the Philippine market is to the NBA 2K franchise.
Our contact hasn’t revealed the local suggested retail price until now, though. Even our go-to retailer, DataBlitz, which accepted pre-orders for the standard pack of NBA 2K13 with a deposit of P300 until yesterday, hasn’t announced the price yet. It retails at $59.99 or about P2,400 in the U.S, however.
We also don’t know if the Dynasty Edition will officially go on sale here.
The Dynasty Edition, which is available only for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, includes the following:
- all-new All-Star add-on downloadable content
- custom NBA 2K13 full-sized Spalding basketball
- exclusive 2K Sports Ink’d earbuds from Skullcandy
- NBA 2K13 basketball-textured controller skin from Skinit
It would be cool to get our hands on that one. Not that we won’t be satisfied with the standard pack. NBA 2K13 has received glowing reviews (top gaming site IGN.com, for one, calls it “[might even be] the best sports game of all”), so we’ll be just as happy with the pack with no fancy-schamncy.
NBA 2K13 platforms: Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Microsoft Windows
