(UPDATE: Apparently, the Cherry Mobile Skyfire is now available at Cherry Mobile kiosks. We’ve updated the spec sheet accordingly.)

Shortly after the release of the Cherry Mobile Flare and Cherry Mobile Titan, the guys from Cherry Mobile are at it again with another mighty yet inexplicably affordable Android offering. The Cherry Mobile Skyfire, possibly due for release very soon, comes with a slice of Android Ice Cream Sandwich and a relatively expansive screen real estate spanning 4.7 inches diagonally.

We’re not sure if the display is in-plane switching [IPS]. Based on the flyer distributed during today’s “Saturday Flare Day,” the device will be priced at P5,999 and comes bundled with a 4GB microSD card.

We don’t know a lot about Cherry Mobile’s forthcoming green machine so far, but we are certain of a few details (screen size included). The Cherry Mobile Skyfire runs on a dual-core processor operating at 1GHz; we’re guessing it is the same MediaTek MT6577 chip found inside the Cherry Mobile Titan, the MyPhone A919 Duo, and the Starmobile Astra.

The Skyfire has an internal memory of 4GB, which is expandable using a microSD card. The rear features a 5-megapixel camera paired with a flash module. The front-facer is more likely VGA.

Besides the typical WiFi, 3G, and Bluetooth wireless connectivity options, the device sports dual-SIM capabilities, too. There’s an FM tuner here as well.

We’ll be sure to keep our senses peeled for the Cherry Mobile Skyfire and update this post with more details, including that all-important availability date, as soon as we hear from Cherry Mobile executives.

It all depends on your screen preference. Halos pareho lanv naman ng specs yung dalawa. If gusto mo ng bigger screen, go for the Skyfire. :-)

    • http://www.facebook.com/ken.dlr Earl Peter Delos Reyes

Actually, the chinese version is HTC. Since HTC is from Taiwan. Maybe you mean the Philippine version of HTC.

      • VladTaltos

Since Cherry Mobile doesn’t make their own phones (they just buy from China and India), which means… Errr, the Chinese version that became a Philippine version? LOL! Confusing to say the least.

atots!!!! i have just withdrawn 4K to get the Flare now, and NOW this!!!!!!!!! i was pretty sure CM will release bigger, better droids, just did not expect to be this soon. Well, this one looks a heap better than Flare & slimmer too. Haaaayyyy, looks like i’m back in the waiting game again….just hope it’s IPS. I’ve seen the Titan’s non-IPS screen – it doesn’t look great when viewed on different angles.

    • Anon

TFT screen according to CM’s website.
